Admissions
Distance Students can apply for admission as a student through the
College of Health and Human Performance Online website:
online.hhp.ufl.edu . The application process is an online process so distance students
can complete it without traveling to campus.
The HHP Online website (
online.hhp.ufl.edu ) contains
admission requirements for distance students. Any questions about the admission
process or to inquire about the status of an application may contact the

Financial
Aid Advising
UF distance learning students are offered the same financial aid
services as campus students through the main UF Student Financial Affairs
office. This office provides assistance to UF distance learning students on
financial aid matters. The website for UF Student Financial Affairs is

In HHP, scholarships and fellowships are available to distance
students. Information for undergraduate and graduate scholarships can be found
at

applications are online and submissions are typically due in spring.

Advising
Academic
Advising is provided to all students, distance and
campus, admitted to the College of Health and Human Performance to help
students succeed in the program of study. Students are advised by Owen Beatty,

Student
Health
HHP distance learning students who are living in
Gainesville and paying the tuition-included health fee may use the on-campus
Student Health Care Center (SHCC), an accredited outpatient clinic staffed by
licensed, board-certified medical providers offering a wide variety of primary
and specialty care services. Visit
shcc.ufl.edu for more information. NOTE:
Non-local students do not pay a health fee, so they do not have access to the
SHCC.
Use
of Gyms/Intramural Sports
HHP distance learning students have access to use of gyms and are
eligible to play in intramural sports. Information for gym locations and hours
of operation can be found at

sign-up information can be found at
recsports.ufl.edu/intramural-sports .
Counseling/Student
Concerns
Counseling services for distance learning students is limited. The
UF Counseling & Wellness Center will setup phone consults for distance
learning students, but only to assist distance students to find local counseling
services for them. The website for UF Counseling & Wellness is:

Any student concerns of an academic or non-academic issue may be
directed to the faculty instructor, Academic Advising, or the Office for
Student and Academic Affairs at 352-273-6436.
Internship
All HHP undergraduate students are required to complete a
full-time internship to graduate. We believe this is one of the strengths of our
online programs and greatly improves the marketability and employment prospects
of our students upon graduation. Students
may find and get approved their own internship sites or choose from a database provided
by the college. An annual HHP Internship
Fair is also held in early spring to allow students to meet with prospective

Career
Advising/Job Placement
Distance students have access via email or telephone to faculty
mentors and advisers for career advising and job placement assistance in their
specialty. Career resources are also available online through the Career
Resource Center (
crc.ufl.edu ).

Organizations
Local distance learning students can participate in the wide
variety of student organizations available through UF and HHP. For a list of

Technology
Assistance
Assistance with technology is provided to distance students by
contacting the UF Computing Help Desk at 352-392-HELP(4357) or by email helpdesk@ufl.edu.
Assistance with Sakai is available via UF Academic Technology (
lss.at.ufl.edu ) or at
352-392-4357.
Emergency response
Distance
learning students participate in HHP courses online; therefore UF campus
emergency response services are not applicable for distance learning students.

Online Student Evaluations
All UF HHP distance students are invited to participate in the UF
course and instructor evaluation process to express anonymous concerns.
Students are emailed a link to the online course evaluation page when the time
window opens for evaluations.
Course
Testing
All HHP distance-learning examinations MUST be proctored by a HHP
approved proctoring service. HHP has a
relationship with the Florida State College system to allow for face-to-face
proctored examinations. Exams can also
be proctored online through
ProctorU ; the UF approved online exam proctoring

Grade
Appeals
Any student in the college who feels his or her performance in a
course has not been evaluated accurately should first discuss any concerns with
the instructor. If the disagreement is not resolved at that level, the student
should consult the department chair, and if still unresolved, contact the
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. For
